C4 have always said they need the pay tv money to justify hd versions of the channels on broadcast. Experience so far is it occurs after 10pm on freeview channels 103 and 104 (itv 1 hd and channel 4 hd). Holidaying in jersey and noticed from tv set in hotel room that there is no itv 1 hd just sd although all other main channels are in hd.
