This is causing a problem to my login system (users not logged in can open old cached pages of logged in users). By default, my browser caches webpages of my expressjs app. Different browsers have their own subtle ways to disable the history buffer.

As @kornel stated, what you want is not to deactivate the cache, but to deactivate the history buffer. It was intended as a privacy measure: I would research changing those settings.
