When a property becomes delinquent in tax payments, the county reclaims the property and auctions. I'm in the stage where i currently homestead vicariously through this sub and other online resources, but www.landwatch.com seems to be a great site for land and such.

I would caution that i've also seen more than. If you're looking for 100's of acres then landwatch. I'm currently using landwatch.com to search for land in my home state of georgia. I learned that many counties across the nation have tax sales/auctions.
